Forge World Newsletter #330 - Zone Mortalis Tiles and Terrain

Apologies that not much has been happening on the blog this past week, Jury Duty is calling and spending too much time on that, still onwards with the post.

As always all the important bits below:

=========================================

Hi there, In this week’s newsletter we return to the perilous confines of the Zone Mortalis with four fantastic new scenery tiles, two interior detail kits, and a 6th edition update to our free Zone Mortalis Warhammer 40,000 expansion. Read on for more!

Realm of Battle Zone Mortalis Tiles
In a galaxy beset by war, any building or corridor may be pressed into service as a strongpoint. Abrupt corners and shadowed alcoves typify the interior workspaces, while the narrow corridors and indeed larger internal rooms can be sealed off by great plasteel blast doors. These cramped and narrow corridors form the most savage arenas of combat conceivable; battlefields that the Codex Tactica Imperialis refers to as ‘Zone Mortalis’ - the fatal ground.
Zone Mortalis Tile Eta

Blake Spence has designed four new Realm of Battle Zone Mortalis tiles: the Epsilon Complex, Eta Complex, Theta Complex and Zeta Complex, each measuring 1' x 1' (300mm x 300mm). These detailed hollow resin tiles are fully compatible and interchangeable with each other and with our Alpha, Beta, Delta and Gamma tiles; conveniently available together in the Realm of Battle Zone Mortalis Set, allowing for a near-limitless variety of terrain set-ups.
These new tiles add huge potential to our Zone Mortalis range, creating new tactical challenges for players as well as fantastic opportunities for modellers. The Theta Complex, in particular, is especially useful as a diorama base as well as allowing large rooms to be created in a Zone Mortalis gaming table. Our Studio team are already talking about using these new tiles to create attack craft hangars and shuttle bays, among others...
These four new terrain pieces are available to pre-order now for despatch from Friday 25th January, and you may recall that we recorded a video to give you a closer look at the Zone Mortalis scenery with the initial release of these fantastic scenery tiles last year.

Zone Mortalis Containment Tanks and Scribe Station
Daren Parrwood and Blake Spence have also designed two resin interior detail kits for use with the Zone Mortalis tiles. The Scribe Station and Containment Tanks both form detailed and characterful additions to the wall sections of a Zone Mortalis tile, and are perfect for developing the theme of your terrain, and for use as primary objectives in your games.
Scribe Station

Both of these detail kits are available to pre-order now for despatch from Friday 25th January.

Zone Mortalis Warhammer 40,000 ExpansionIn addition to a fantastic scenery range, the Imperial Armour team also released a completely free Warhammer 40,000 expansion, allowing you to set your own games in the desperate and savage confines of a Zone Mortalis. These rules cover a huge variety of environments, from subterranean bunker complexes under bombardment, to the decks of great warships in the midst of void engagements, making for uniquely tense and exciting scenarios. You can download the Warhammer 40,000 6th edition Zone Mortalis expansion from the Forge World website.
